About the Teacher

Camilla Holmes

Hi — I’m Camilla. With my TCL qualification in piano performance, I have brought the gift of music to many students and people I have played for. I have a strong and varied musical background, and I have featured in choirs, orchestras, functions and shows, accompanying on piano, singing, conducting and even playing the clarinet.

My Passion

I’m a passionate music educator with over 14 years of teaching experience and several years of performing in youth orchestras. Music has been a lifelong journey for me, and I’m thrilled to share that joy with my students.

My Goal

While the piano is my main instrument, I also love teaching clarinet, voice, and ukulele. Whether you're just beginning or looking to grow your skills, my goal is to make music both fun and meaningful. I believe in nurturing creativity, confidence, and a strong musical foundation in every student.

Frequently Asked Question

The ideal starting age depends on both the instrument and the individual child. As a general guideline:

• Piano and ukulele: From the year a child turns 6, or when they are beginning to read and can focus for short periods
• Clarinet: Recommended from around 10 years old, as it requires stronger breath control and slightly larger hands

Every child develops differently, and we are happy to discuss whether your child is ready.

Students are encouraged to own or rent an instrument so they can practise at home and get the most out of their lessons. Instruments do not need to be expensive, especially when starting out.
If you would like to try lessons before committing to an instrument, that is absolutely fine.

• The teacher’s piano or ukulele can be used during lessons
• For clarinets, students must bring their own instrument due to hygiene requirements

We are happy to advise on suitable beginner instruments and rental options.
